Our Services

Customizing and Design development

Because each piece of furniture is made locally by hand, it is usually not a problem for us to modify a design to fit your needs. For a modest upcharge, our builders are usually happy to alter the dimensions of a piece or to add or take away design elements. For totally custom pieces and complex designs, we will meet with you, discuss your ideas, make a drawing for you to review and approve. Once approved, we can get a price quote from a producer for you so you can make your decision.

Delivery

We do all of our own deliveries within about a 25 mile radius. Standard delivery includes delivery, assembly and final placement of the furniture in your home. Our standard delivery fee is 5% of the purchase price or a minimum charge of $45. For locations beyond 25 miles, we may work out an additional charge, or ship via a third party, usually Pack-Ship USA , a company that is based out of Indiana and specializes in sending Amish furniture all over the country. If you choose to pick up your furniture from our store you may do so at no charge and we will do what we can to help you load it up.

Our Warranty

Plain and Simple offers a warranty covering defects in materials and construction of our furniture for a period of two years. If a defect is found during that period, we will either repair or replace the defective item, or substitute a different item. The final decision is at the discretion of Plain and Simple. Our warranty is valid only where customer maintains a humidity level in the range of 35%-45%. Within that range, and especially outside of that range, splitting of wood should not be considered a defect, but rather appreciated as an inherent characteristic of solid wood. Nevertheless this warranty will cover splitting of wood that occurs within two years and within the specified humidity range. Our warranty is not transferable to another owner. Small marks, dents, and scratches are normal for hardwood and will occur over the lifetime of your furniture, perhaps including the time of shipping and delivery. Our goal is that you receive your furniture in perfect condition and we take responsibility for all damage that may occur while it is in our possession. At our discretion we may perform touch up or make repairs ourselves or send the furniture to our builders/finishers for the work. In some cases we may seek to negotiate a discounted price for an item with minor imperfection. Damage done to the furniture after delivery is the responsibility of the customer. We will do what we can to help you with minor repairs, touch up, etc. for free or a nominal charge depending on the issue. On rare occasions we may send items back to the builder for repair. Shipping and repair charges will apply in these cases. Plain and Simple is not responsible for and generally will not make repairs on furniture not originating from our store.Plain and Simple offers a warranty covering defects in materials and construction of our furniture for a period of two years.
